A year ago, we took a leap of faith. We opened the doors to our new Bromley site with a simple but powerful belief: that more people in our community deserved access to quality counselling support. Twelve months later, we can say with real confidence that it was the right decision.

More people, more support

The numbers tell part of the story. Since opening, our Bromley site has added 120 donation counselling sessions and 100 private sessions to our weekly offering. Combined with our existing Bickley site, we’re now delivering up to 500 sessions every single week: 325 from donations and 175 private.

But numbers only go so far. What they represent is something far more meaningful: hundreds of individuals each week who have somewhere safe to go, someone to talk to, and the support they need to navigate life’s challenges.

Why access matters

Counselling changes lives, but only if people can actually access it. For too many, the barrier isn’t a lack of willingness to seek help, it’s a lack of affordable, local options. Our donation-based model means that cost is never the reason someone goes without support, and having two sites means we can reach more corners of our community than ever before.

Bromley has allowed us to say yes to more people. Yes, we have availability. Yes, we can see you this week. Yes, help is here.

A community effort

None of this happens without people. Our counsellors, volunteers, administrative team, and everyone who has donated, referred, or simply spread the word — you are the reason this works. Opening a new site is one thing; making it thrive is another entirely. That takes a community, and we’re lucky to have one that shows up.

Looking ahead

We’re proud of what the past year has brought but we’re even more excited about what comes next. There are more people out there who need support, and we’re committed to finding ways to reach them.

If you or someone you know could benefit from counselling, we’d love to hear from you. And if you’d like to support what we do, every contribution, however small, helps us keep those doors open.

Here’s to the next chapter.
