CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills – CSK-L2
This is a Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) Course, which is accredited by the Office of the Qualifications & Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) into the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). The qualification number for CSK-L2 is 500/7938/4.
This course is offered to candidates who wish to learn to use counselling skills either in a voluntary or employed setting. This course will not qualify you as a counsellor, but it may assist you in deciding whether or not to continue training. It is suitable for candidates who have a willingness to explore & develop themselves in a safe group environment and to learn how to use counselling skills ethically and safely.

- Develop & use self -awareness in both a personal & professional capacity
- Use a range of counselling skills to facilitate the helping interaction

Entry requirements:
Minimum age of entry is 19 years.
No previous training or experience is required for this course. Some candidates may have completed the CPCAB L2 Introduction to Counselling Skills (ICSK-L2), but it is not necessary to have completed this prior to this L2 course.
All candidates will be invited to a one-to-one informal interview.
How you will be assessed:
Assessment will be via a candidate portfolio and an externally assessed written exam paper.

15 week course – Tuesdays – 9.30 – 4pm.

Courses start annually in September.

Progression Route:
If you wish to continue onto the Level 3 CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies, Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CSK-L2) is essential, or have achieved Recognised Prior Learning (RPL). You will also need to attend, pass an interview and provide a reference from your most recent tutor prior to admission onto the course.
