Westmeria has grown beyond all recognition since its inception in 2003. From one person working in a room attached to a larger office we now have 4 dedicated counselling rooms that we are proud to work from, an experienced staff team and many loyal and committed volunteers, without whom we would not be able to operate to the high standard that we do. We reach people from across the borough and beyond through one to one counselling, group work and now training – creating the next generation of counsellors. We plan to build on this successful service and to add to it as, hopefully, our funding increases. In recent years we have had a number exciting developments with creating a private arm to the service, as well as a counselling college, all of which funds our service.

We are constantly looking at new ways to develop the service in order to respond to the mental health needs of the community and our vision is always ambitious. We have an abundance of new ideas, but not quite enough hours in the day or money in the bank! However we remain devoted to growing and passionate about our work so as and when change is possible we will adapt accordingly.
